CHEMIGRAMS
Red Cabbage Experimentation
Test Strip:
Covering a section of a red cabbage in fixer, I got a small piece of chemigram paper and pressed down my red cabbage to create imprints on the paper. I then sprayed some developer over this.

Chemigrams:
Sadly, on a larger scale the prints did not work as well as I'd hoped. There are small imprints made however not enough to create a satisfactory image.
DARKROOM
Following the same process that I did in my practice, I faced some complications with the focus on my enlarger. However, this created a very interesting 'x-ray' feel to my red cabbage, allowing my viewer to see it in a different way to before almost allowing them to see through the red cabbage itself and examine it. These prints were exposed for 3.5 seconds to allow the light through the cabbage.

PRINTS
Following my previous process with the ink and roller, I cut a different section of my red cabbage to create a new unique print for my designs.
CYANOTYPES
I wanted to use my image taken with a microscope camera to create a new set of cyanotypes to see if i can capture detail and texture. I have previously used red cabbage prints for this process, so i wanted to experiment and see what the outcome would look like using an image. I started by turning my initial images black and white then inverting them so when exposed to light the print made is the white section of the red cabbage. These were then printed on acetate, layered on cyanotype paper and exposed to the sun for 2 hours.

FINAL PIECE
Full Panel
Firstly, I started by creating a layout with black rectangles so I knew where all of my prints were going to be placed on my panel, each row was made into a different group. I then pasted my cyanotypes onto the document one by one, I then selected the blue, inversed the selection and deleted all the white and grey colours. Enlarging the cyanotypes to capture as much detail as possible, I lined up the selected section of my print on top of the chosen rectangle. Holding command and clicking on the rectangle to select it i moved back to my print layer and copy and pasted the section of the print, lastly, I deleted the rectangle and let the print take its place. This process was then repeated.
